Do you ever struggle cutting this delicious fruit? You get your fingers all green and sticky and random bits of avocado skin are stuck to its flesh and end up in your salad… You’re probably doing it the wrong way.
Here’s a quick and easy way to cut an avocado and keep your hands clean. Once you try it, you’ll never go back.
1. Cut the avocado into half lengthwise. Give it a little twist to separate the two halves.
2. Swing the knife into the stone and twist it to pop the stone out.
3. Hold the avocado in its skin and dice the flesh or slice it into thin slices, depending on the recipe you’re creating.
4. Grab a spoon and slide it along the inside edge of the skin to remove the flesh from its skin.
The best bit is that you can use this method even when wild camping by using your Swiss Army knife and spork.
Now that you’ve cut your avocado, you may want to use it to make a chunky avocado cream pasta, a kale and Quorn salad or even a healthy Sunday breakfast.
