I LOVE camping, either in the wild or at a campsite. It’s a cheap way to travel, and it’s a great way to feel in touch with nature, which makes me happy.
Here are some bits of camping equipment I’d love to own if only I was rich (sigh!).
1 Rab Womens Ignition 3 Sleeping Bag
This mummy-shaped sleeping bag has a comfort limit of -3.5° and still weights only 1.25kg, making it perfect for backpacking in the autumn and spring. I’ve never owned a Rab sleeping bag, but the Pyrotec synthetic insulation seems to be very good to keep you warm – something I do look out for.
2 Vango DLX Self-Inflating Pillow
When I go camping, I usually stuff my sleeping bag’s sack with clothes and use it as a pillow, which is great to pack light when you’re backpacking. However, having a comfy self-inflating pillow when you travel by car is definitely nicer! The Vango DLX is designed to support your head and back for improved sleep. And god knows I could do with an improved night’s sleep, always!
3 NeoAir Xlite Womens Mat
As much as I like camping, sleeping on the ground can become quite uncomfortable after a few nights. What I’d like to try out is an inflatable sleeping mat like the NeoAir Xlite.
4 Mountain Hardwear Lightwedge 2 DP Tent
This ultra-light 2 person tent is ideal for anyone going on a backpacking adventure. It is great for camping in the rainy UK, as the DryPitch technology allows you to set up camp while staying dry. Also, the hub geometry guarantees good headroom, which is excellent if the weather is bad and all you want to do is get comfy and read a book while listening to the lovely sound of raindrops falling.
5 Sol Advanced Cooking System By Jetboil
Well, well… what is camping without a nice warm dinner cooked on the grass? This camping stove can hold almost a litre and only weighs 300g. It can cook your dinner even at -6°! Also, it is very easy to pack and takes up hardly any space, which is essential when you go wild camping.
6 Light My Fire Sporks’ n Case
These sporks are ideal for saving room and are very easy to spot in a messy backpack, thanks to their bright colours.
7 Low-Love Chair By Kelty
How cute is this chair?! It’d make snuggling with your loved one in front of a campfire super easy and cozy. Due to the heavyweight (7kg), this is definitely something I’d take along only when going camping in a car or a van.
Head over here if you fancy a look at my hiking wish list.
