I love chocolate. Who doesn’t?! When I give in to temptation and get myself a bar, I try to look for chocolate that’s as natural as possible and, if I’m trying to lose weight, I go for the highest cocoa solids content. Seed And Bean are a new brand that offers organic vegetarian and vegan ethical chocolate. I gave their bars a try, as I’m always curious about new organic products on the market.
I tasted four different flavours…
Sicilian hazelnut dark chocolate (58% cocoa solids)
This rich vegan dark chocolate is delicious. The hazelnut flavour stands out without overwhelming the silky dark chocolate.
Raspberry and vanilla white chocolate (30% cocoa solids)
This was a bit of an adventurous choice for me, but I thought I’d give it a go. The bar tastes a lot like milk, with a raspberry aftertaste. Definitely, one you want to go for when you have sugar cravings.
Coconut and raspberry dark chocolate (66% cocoa solids)
A lovely vegan bar. The dark chocolate is very intense. I only wish you could taste more of the coconut and less of the raspberry.
Lemon and poppy seed white chocolate (30% cocoa solids)
This was definitely my favourite of the four. It tastes like creamy chocolatey lemon curd. It’s sweet but not excessively, and it easily melts in your mouth, just how I like it.
I’d also like to taste their milk chocolate, which is my all-time favourite, at some point.
It’s a delicious chocolate with creative flavour combinations. I also really like the concept and ethical vision of Seed And Bean – they produce ‘courageous chocolate’ locally to save food miles, use only organic and fairtrade ingredients, and package their bars in fully compostable wrappers. They’ll easily become one of my favourite chocolate brands.
